Soumia Bsilat

Maître Soumia Bsilat has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2015.

Passionate and committed, she puts her expertise in several areas of law at your service, providing you with the support you need throughout your legal proceedings.

She obtained a Master’s degree in Civil and Criminal Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in 2014, followed by a postgraduate Master’s degree in Labour and Social Security Law in 2015, also from ULB.

In 2025, she successfully completed the Lawyer’s Victims Assistance (LVA) training programme, designed to train lawyers in supporting victims of sexual and domestic violence.

Specialised in juvenile law, she represents both minors at risk and minors suspected of having committed an offence throughout protection proceedings (police interviews, consultations at her office before the juvenile court judge, and public hearings). She is attentive to their needs and acts in the best interests of the child.

Maître Bsilat also has extensive experience in criminal law, where she represents both victims and individuals prosecuted for criminal offences, as well as in labour law.

In family law, she assists her clients with divorce proceedings and family disputes, combining professionalism with sensitivity.

Soumia Bsilat is actively involved in the Brussels Bar. She works closely with the Legal Aid Bureau, where she serves as a column head, helping to ensure access to justice for all.

She was awarded the Stella Wolf Prize by the Brussels Bar. This prize recognises the lawyer who has demonstrated, in the exercise of their profession and in their professional relationships, the most outstanding qualities of compassion, the greatest sense of collegiality, the strongest commitment to dialogue and understanding of others, and the greatest availability.

In 2026, she co-founded the law firm CAUSA.

Fluent in French and Arabic, she provides her clients with high-quality linguistic and cultural support.

In parallel with her legal practice, Maître BSILAT teaches criminal law and criminal procedure, as well as an introduction to civil law, at the Institut des Carrières Commerciales.
