A graduate in law from the Université Catholique de Louvain and in economic law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Muriel Gillet has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 1991. She joined the law firm Lebutte & Partners in 2004. In 2026, she co-founded the law firm CAUSA.

With a team consisting of two associates (Ms Soumia BSILAT and Ms Céline MIECRET) and a paralegal assistant (Ms Manuella BUCKINX), we are able to provide you with a personalised and dynamic service, whether in handling contentious matters or seeking negotiated solutions.

A specialist in family law, Muriel Gillet handles cases involving both the personal aspects of disputes arising from divorce or separation (such as issues relating to arrangements for the accommodation and care of children) and their financial and property aspects (liquidation of matrimonial property regimes between spouses or of co-ownership between partners, as well as maintenance obligations). Following training organised by the Bar for the support of victims of sexual and domestic violence, particular attention is also given to assisting clients facing these issues.

Muriel GILLET is also regularly consulted in matters relating to the division and liquidation of estates or co-owned assets.

With extensive experience in the judicial protection of adults, having herself been appointed as an administrator of both property and personal affairs, she brings a critical perspective to the performance of duties by judicial representatives.

Education law is another area she deals with on a regular basis.

Real estate law (the sale and purchase of property, as well as disputes relating to commercial leases or leases of a principal residence), as well as construction law disputes, are also areas in which she has extensive experience.
